Today team manager Cecil Blazon finally gave his Colonels Bucket press team the green light to "go live!" and what a day it's wound up to be!!
The teams' new jersey was officially unveiled ahead of the Vorkula TT, with a flurry of unexpected late afternoon transfer activity seeing the departures of Ryan Freund and George Cherryholmes.
Blazon said "although Ryan and George had only been with the team a short time, we are extremely grateful for their professionalism on the road and camaraderie off of it. We'd all like to wish them every success in the future".
Less than two hours later and celebrating his 30th birthday today experienced Dutch rider Edward Hooiveld would emerge amid handshakes and well wishing from his new team mates at CB HQ.
Overjoyed with his new deal, he said "it's a real bonus at this stage of my career to sign for such a driven team on the way up", adding that the decision to join had been "simple".
Team manager Blazon was later quoted as saying "Edward is definitely experienced enough to push some of our younger riders on, not mention his all rounder ability which makes him a real threat...We've high hopes for Ed!"
Finally, as the team looks forward to Vorkula the boys are in jubilant mood. However podium or not, the champagne will be definitely be flowing as the teams' pocket
rocket time trial specialist Udo Greve celebrates his 27th birthday. Definitely one to watch for on Saturday!!
